Unprecedented protein quantification in single cells using advanced proteomics
Single-cell proteomics enables the study of protein expression and function at the level of individual cells. By revealing details that are not detectable in bulk analysis, the field is transforming how scientists study proteins and their impact on cellular behavior. In this interview, Manuel Matzinger and Julia Bubis from the Proteomics Tech Hub of IMP, IMBA and GMI at the Vienna BioCenter tell us more about their new method, powered by the cutting-edge Astral™ mass spectrometer by Thermo Fischer Scientific, that can quantify up to 5,300 proteins per cell. The study was published in Nature Methods.
