VBC Launches Summer School for Undergraduates

16 Dec 2009

We are very pleased to announce that the Vienna Biocentre (VBC) is launching the VBC Summer School, a 10-week research and training opportunity for up to 20 undergraduate students annually, beginning in July 2010. The VBC summer school is an initiative of the Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), and will be held in conjunction with its partner institutes at the Vienna Biocentre Campus: the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA), and the Max Perutz Laboratories (MFPL).

The VBC summer school aims to bring together a diverse and international group of students and give them the opportunity to work side-by-side with leading researchers in a dynamic scientific environment. The school also includes a bi-weekly lecture series given by faculty, a energic social calendar, and a scientific symposium at its close.

Successful applicants will be provided with accommodation, a stipend of €800/month, and travel expenses to and from Vienna.

We are seeking applicants who have completed a minimum of two years of university education in any area of the natural sciences. Most importantly, we seek applications from students with an intense curiosity and passion for science. The deadline for applications is 18th of February 2010.
