Group leader positions at the IMP

We invite applications for group leader positions at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna, Austria.

The IMP is one of the world’s leading basic biomedical research institutes, located at the thriving and interdisciplinary Vienna BioCenter. The IMP conducts curiosity-driven research across a wide range of topics. We aim to recruit group leaders with a strong and innovative research program in the areas of synthetic biology, genomics, gene regulation, development, cancer, immunology and infection biology and welcome applications with artificial intelligence and proteomics approaches.

Group leader positions are fully independent positions, similar to assistant professorships. The IMP offers internationally competitive salaries and generous funds for student, postdoc and technician positions, investments and running costs. Research groups are supported by state-of-the-art core facilities, such as bioinformatics, biooptics, cryo-electron microscopy, next generation sequencing and mass spectrometry.

The IMP participates in the international Vienna BioCenter PhD Program and Summer School, which are amongst the most competitive graduate and undergraduate research programs in Europe.

The IMP aims to improve gender balance among its faculty and therefore encourages female scientists to apply to this call.

Applications, including a CV, a summary of research achievements and future research plans, and the contact details for 3 referees, should be submitted to Christopher Robinson via the online application portal by 6 January 2025.
