The Plaschka lab at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) offers an exciting research opportunity for individuals with a PhD degree in biochemistry or cryo-electron microscopy. We are an internationally leading group in the mechanistic study of human gene expression, with interests in mRNA transcription, processing, and nuclear export. With this position, you will combine cutting edge biochemistry, cryo-electron microscopy, cryo-electron tomography, and genetics to tackle key open questions in human mRNA maturation.

Available resources include, on-site mass spectrometry, Cryo-EM (Titan Krios & Glacios), a locally operated FIB-SEM, a fully administered compute-cluster, and more.
